It’s hurting

This final book is easier to read than the first two. The parts that hurt the most are the parts where Rin sees Altan in her mind after she falls past the Seal.

I know missing Altan is beyond concerning, but he made Rin so harsh and so strong and so direct that I could never remember to hate how manipulating he was.

Rin has felt so lost for so long and it hurts to see her have to keep being taught by new men.

“He glared at her until she nodded. “Good,” he said, and strode briskly away toward the gate. Chastened, she followed.” (94)

WHY TF IS MY BABY GIRL LISTENING TO THIS NEW NOBODY MAN ?? LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME - SHE FOLLOWED !? Not even an inner monologue afterwards where she vows to kill him for it! I feel lost.

*Michael Scott voice* No question about it - I am ready to get hurt again.
