SETTING: The setting in this part of the story is their ship. They are currently on their boat to find the Mark of Athena. Annabeth is very nervous and scared because she is afraid of failing her mom. "Annabeth felt like she was going to throw up."

VISUALIZATION: Percy is brand new to Camp Jupiter and is mesmerized by its uniqueness. "Shimmering purple warriors stood outside the armory, polishing ethereal swords. Others hung out in front of the barracks. A ghostly boy chased a ghostly dog down the street. " Although I have never seen a ghost or a Roman city before, I can visualize very well what is happening in this moment.

ABSENT MAKE UP CHARACTERIZATION: Piper feels useless. I know this because in the book she says " I think I have a new entry in my top 10 list of times I felt useless." Although she did feel helpless she did try to help out on the boat. Piper also thinks that boys are clueless because her boyfriend won't stop talking about Raina, the girl that used to like him.

POINT OF VIEW: The point of view of this book is 3rd person limited. The story is told by an outside narrator but the narrator knows the feelings and thoughts of the character. I know this because in the book it says, "Piper felt as useless as ever." This shows that the story is told by the narrator but we are also told how the character feels.

INCITING INCIDENT: The inciting incident of this story is when the Greek demi-gods find the Roman demi-god camp.Soon, they figure out who the 7 people are in the Prophecy of the 7. "Seven half-bloods shall answer the call, To storm or fire, the world must fall. An oath to keep with the final breath, And foes bear arms to the Doors of death."The demigods from both sides must work together to figure out this prophecy.
