I loved the last two books by the esteemed Raymond St. Elmo so much, that I’m almost nervous to read on lest the magic dispel. (But so far so good)

Most excellent! I decided to go into it blind, but I appreciate the narrowing down of what I won’t encounter (and there seems plenty to encounter at the fair)Now on to the real question. Now that you mentioned cookies, can I bake chocolate chip cookies one handed and blind while I read this.

True; you may accidentally use salt instead of sugar, sour cream instead of butter; set the stove to 800 Fahrenheit then trip on the cat when startled by the smoke alarm, hitting your head on the wine rack sending bottles of '42 Bordeaux shattering to the tiles, requiring emergency personnel to shatter your door in rescue.
As they gather around you with worried faces, explain to them that you were bedazzled by the elegant eloquence of Raymond St. Elmo Literary Labs.
I could use the publicity.

Ha. HERE be dragons casting fireballs at the stars that foretell the doom of the council of mages that alone stand between the Final Night and the happy flower children of the Elf lands from whence the chosen one must come to rule the Day or end it...
Okay, none of that is in the book but you get the idea. It's loaded with magic nuggets like chocolate bits in a fresh baked cookie I'll shut up now.
