Ughhhhh.
No hate to this author, because I enjoyed the previous works I read by her. But dude the dialogue in this is driving me crazy. It’s not how people talk. ALSO everyone just seems to be in the right place at the right time. There’s always some stranger who happens upon the sleuthing main character who has ALL the answers. Like, come on.

Not working for me so far. The motives don’t make any sense honestly. I LOVE st. James’s historical fiction, and this modern day story isn’t hooking me yet.
