Susan Cain most effectively uses ethos and logos. The author was lots of statistics and studies but also quotes a lot of famous scientists. She talks about a professor “Brian Little, former Harvard University psychology lecturer” (Cain 205). Saying he is from Harvard provides credibility.

Today I read about how scientists study brain activity using lots of description. The author describes the fMRI machine as "a multimillion-dollar [...] machine, which has made possible some of the greatest breakthroughs in modern neuroscience" (Cain 115). This shows how important the machine is to breakthroughs in science.

Susan Cain mostly uses anecdotes to tell stories about the lives of successful introverts and studies to support them. She talks about Theodor Geisel (Dr. Suess), and how he "was a much more quiet man than his jocular rhymes suggest" (Cain 86).
