I've been reading books that use streams of consciousness as a writing style, and I find that it's overwhelming for me (what with all the run-on sentences that goes on and on), but I enjoy the sense of being in someone else's head. Mieko Kanai's Mild Vertigo works really well for me, but Fosse's A Shining frustrates me more than it entertains me.

Whatever it is, it works. Mostly. I am not pushing myself to finish this, that's for sure. So I'll stick around and continue this and I'll update.

Jung Young Moon's Seven Samurai Swept Away in a River both frustrates and entertains me. I cannot stand the paragraph-long sentences, yet somehow I find them enjoyable as well. I have no idea why. Maybe it's his clear way of writing that differs from Fosse's A Shining that causes me to perceive it as more digestible. Maybe the lack of humor, as opposed to Kanai's Mild Vertigo, is to blame for its tedious writing.
