Susan went off to the oratorical state championships. Her confidence was seen as cocky by Leo, but she ended up winning. When she returned back to the school, a large and excited crowd was expected. Only three people showed. Susan turned back to Stargirl, and Leo turned back to his selfish old ways.

Leo and Stargirl are together much more often now. She figures out that he is the one who left the porcupine tie at her door two years ago. This came as a surprise to me. They kissed, and became really close. When she confesses her love to him in front of everyone, he sort of gets turned off. He explains why people don't like her and now him and soon Stargirl is gone, and Leo is left with a "normal" girl named Susan.

Stargirl catches Leo following her home, and he confesses his love for her. He talks with Kevin about her and he warns him that she has lost all of her popularity. No one in the school talks to her anymore and that scares Leo. He doesn't know whether he cares more about Stargirl or his popularity when Archie brings the question up.

Stargirl's hot seat interview was never aired. Leo finds an old valentine's day card from Stargirl and the "friendship" becomes awkward.

Stargirl is a new student at MAHS. The entire student body is wowed by her difference from everyone else. However what nobody understands is, why? Why is it that Stargirl is the way that she is? She is considered an outcast, but easily becomes the most popular and well-liked girl in the entire school and community. I have ended reading on the part where she wins the school's oratorical contest.
