still just kind of okay, with occasional passages of brilliance. nothing quite like the heights of infinite jest

honestly, not sure how i'm feeling on this one so far. on the other hand, it's by DFW so of course it's good (albeit in the way that, say, a movie by david fincher is "good"). i think i just need to give it a little more time, hopefully it'll be like infinite jest and start picking up in the back half
