OK, I know that it was part of my reading goals this year to DNF more books. But his other two books were so good. Am I less interested just because other books that are more interested came available from the library? Or should Andy Weir stick with sciencing to survive narratives and leave crime to others? Maybe I’ll just sit on this and come back.

This book was legit MUCH worse than The Martian and Project Hail Mary. I know a lot of people really dislike it and hate the way Weir wrote the main character; I still liked the book overall, but I also have pretty low standards lol. And regardless, this book is by far his worst of the three

Omg that is so validating! Thank you! I’m decided to definitely stick with it, but yeah, it’s a big step down. I loveeeeee The Martian so much and was afraid to read Project Hail Mary because I didn’t want it to mar my feel good feelings if it didn’t live up to the precedent. I’m so glad I did end up reading it eventually, but I’m even more glad I didn’t read this first after The Martian cos I never would have read PHM if that had been the case.
