Chloe’s mom has a LOT of the same characteristics as mine! And just like in WANTING YOU, there’s a dialogue about divorced parents who didn’t behave well when their kids were younger and then suddenly become friends when their kids are adults. I experienced that and no matter how much people try to tell you how great it is, it’s awkward and weird at times. So the way Chloe dealt with it was a LOT of me.

“It’s nothing,” she lied. “Just…the new kindergarten teacher isn’t the one I had been communicating with. She ended up taking a teaching position elsewhere. So they hired this…guy, who is kind of…I don’t know…icky.”
