The description of the royal family's portrait: "two children sat at her feet, a boy and a girl." That boy's Valko. The girl's Corina. I thought he was the one to retrieve Felicia before Corina was even born. I guess he was some very precocious toddler. This is written three times. Two here and once more in Niko's book, where this scene is repeated almost verbatim. The book's in dire need of an editor.

"I love a demanding woman... ... Never had one before" What?! He's talking about other women while they are having sex? Misogynistic prick.

And yet she did nothing to search for them. She's Queen, for ducks sake! When her father was alive, OK, he was the obstacle, but he's been dead for a while.

Are you telling me that nobody has been in this cottage for a hundred years, and yet all the NATURAL FIBER clothes and rags are still intact? And there's a fresh, FRESH! Soap bar there? No magic involved. Make it make sense.

So, the spoiled princess is angry that Rhys is taking the PRISONER away? seriusly? So she rather see him inprisoned than away? WTF? People in this book are awful.

Are you telling me this woman, who says she loves her sons, can't put two and two together? I mean, Rhys is looking for prince Stefan, on behalf of King Nikolai, and the woman can't make the connection to her sons? Seriously? I won't believe any love she professes towards them. And she does, at the end of Nikolai's book. I'm with Niko on his assesment of his mother's character. He was right to resent her.

So this woman is perfectly fine with torturing as long as she doesn't have to do it herself. I already hate her. Also, why the hell is she in the guard? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY wants her there. Not even the big wigs. No mention of anybody forcing the "Sentinel" (who is in charge of the guard) to accept her, he thinks she should be having children, and her parents want her married. How did she make it in?
