So far a few things have happened in here but the story is not giving me any feelings of dread or suspense?? Which I think is kind of odd. Seems to be more talk than trying to build up suspense about an eruption.

I just pinpointed a problem with this story. How can the reader feel concern or worry when the 2 main characters are not? Mac + Tyler are at Brodie's playing pool & drinking when they should be worried about that volcano! Yet they said the 3 magma chambers may have joined? Book sends mixed message. 😐
