Beautifully written account of the genocide and broken promises forced into Native Americans. One of the greatest historical tragedies in my opinion is the destruction of Native American culture and just how complete their erasure has often seemed. But this book also shows their beautiful resilience and humanity in the face of the rise of arguably the most destructive empire the world has ever known.
