Too anxious, gonna read some nonsense. Taking my most battered copy (…yes I have three shush) into a bubble bath, so live blogging might not happen but I’ve commented on every single joke like three times already, as well as made every joke I possibly could three times so. We’re good.

Apparently there's a maximum status update you're allowed to put on a book before it starts overwriting past updates.

*did anyone else know that ever in any history of any book ever or is my liveblogging this one book four times the only book in the history of goodreads to do that* -- anyway I've only lost like four updates, saving them all for posterity now I guess. ^^

A good castle has moat monsters. This is fantasy law, and I fear modern books have forgotten this precious element.

Valanice and Graham have hardly anything going for them in the original games since they hardly ever interact on screen but this book and this scene is just DELIGHTFUL.

Pleaaase Graham, say "A heart is a heavy burden." I know this book came out like a decade before the Howl's Moving Castle (the movie at least, I don't know the book's publication date), but pleaaaase. I know you won't, but I want you to.

I absolutely one thousand million percent love this strobing effect of two Grahams floating together, his transparent and delicate soul settling down into his body again. It's delightful.

A Valanice story, I think, would have been very welcome. I'm glad for the trilogy we got, but I really would have enjoyed an official novel from her perspective. This lonely image of her standing alone before the throne, with her husband dying in the next room and her son gone for at least a week to face an unknown villain alone, while her kingdom is ravaged by evil knights....it feels worth exploring.
