this book is written very interestingly. there’s a large attention to detail which really makes me appreciate the authors ability to be so attentive and some of it is written very beautifully!! a lot of people find it dreary and boring,, i think this is understandable but it overlooks the depressing nature of the book bc i feel like not only is this done on purpose, hence the title, but it the slowness really encompasses how the characters are feeling and going about life. i found it a it difficult to get into because of the beginning but i soon got used to the writing style and came to enjoy it,, very calming. great read before bedtime. frustrating characters but so realistic bc even though you sometimes crave an exciting and anticipating read this book is painfully accurate and realistic to the slow & lower points of life. i think someone not liking it is the same as someone who doesn’t like a movie “where nothing happens” or “there’s no plot” ,,, they’re just not paying enough attention. at least imo! lol.
