12% into the book. I want to like this because I think the concept is interested but holy shit this writing is drag. It’s very try-hard purple prose. And I’m all for float language but this is too much and it doesn’t really fit with the tone of the book?

I wanna keep reading so I know the plot but I’m aggravated with every meandering music metaphor that’s dropped into on each page.
