I'm seriously tempted to set this aside and be done with it. I feel like I'm having to trudge through it, and when I think about how it may take YEARS for the next book-and then YEARS for the next book-and then YEARS for the final book (assuming Martin doesn't pull a Jordan)...well, I just lose interest in the series.

Couldn't do it. Couldn't care enough to trudge through the last few-hundred pages. I'll finish the series when it's finished.

The possibility of Martin pulling a Jordan is why I'm not starting this series until the final book is released.

I thought I was the only one who hasn't started the series.
Dan, that's kind of what I'm thinking of doing. Putting it aside until they're ALL out. The sad thing is, I really loved the series...read the first one almost 10 years ago now...but yeesh. One can only take so much!

One can..."As I get older and less patient, I'm beginning to think this is the only way to read fantasy series. There's nothing worse than waiting a year or two for the next book and having it not advance things very far.
I have only read the first, I did absolutely love it, and am still debating reading the second after a close friend of mine practically went crazy checking GRRM's website weekly for years for any sort of update on when this last one would come out.
