Alright so we’re 108 pages in and the book is making very little sense.
- is Erin playing with dolls and pretending they’re real?
- if not when did everyone become plastic? And why?
- the world is post-nuclear war — war her father was old enough to recall (refugee, labor camp survivor) — the timeline feels compressed for that to be true
- is this the lit equivalent of banana taped to wall being “art”
