There sure are a fair amount of coincidences piling up all of a sudden... SPOILERS So grieving father just happens to randomly pick a name out of the phone book to call and express himself to, and lo and behold it's the crazy cop who killed his son that very morning. Then crazy cop goes to dispose of a body, which the guy he'd been pursuing at the book's opening just happens to stumble across.
