While there is no doubt in my mind that Singh can WRITE and love her characterizarion and find her worldbuilding stunning to say the least, the overabundant use of adjectives has made me really weary! I mean she uses them to describe literally EVERYTHING!!! ...I wonder if this is a stunt to cover the fact that the plot is almost absent...

I like that she concentrates on the characters and the flashbacks because they shed light in both characters and give insight it's just that the murder thing looks like it's used as an excuse for these two to meet and then it fades in the background! It's just that unlike Meljean Brook, Singh doesn't seem to know how to keep the balance.
AMEN. She's been driving me nuts over the last few books with her adjective fest. Everything is bloody kissed by something sparkly or smells like chocolate dipped something. She can't leave a noun alone.
I think you're right, there are definitely places where plot is supposed to go that are filled up with endless descriptions of this one's nostril hair or how blue that one's eyes are. She's getting worse with the GH series, I reckon. At least the Psy-Ch series still has an overarching plot guiding it. The GH series keeps resuscitating tired old Lijuan as the big bad. Yawn.

I get it that are character driven books, but still this is UF, the plot is supposed to be important.
