Refreshing to read a history that features women’s lives and contributions. Separately, had to note down this excerpt of the author reflecting on a particularly satisfying day: “I was entirely present, and yet at the end of the day I recalled almost nothing, which is how I imagine life goes. For a while you remember the taste of the apple, but then you just remember that it was sweet.”
