I have had a theory the whole time as to the solution to the murder - soon Braddon is finally going to tell us. It’s so interesting how close this book is stylistically to later 20th Century crime fiction; this storyline is not dissimilar to the type of plot Agatha Christie pioneered!

The plot thickens! Loving reading these Victorian melodramas at the moment.
