Thanks ^^ - the Tumblr is mostly about my gaming ESO on the EU servers, so it's not been very relevant to Goodreads or books and as always I only sporadically update and mostly like other people's content and comment on that, heh.

Thanks, Sho, I hope you did the same and a Healthy New Year to you as well ^^. I had a quiet Christmas with the parents (always a relief) and really found a great present for my mother which made both of us very happy ^^ - since it was in DVD form we also watched it during the holidays (and it'll make a great present for my uncle's 85th birthday later this year, so yay!) - it was a documentary with old footage of the country my mum grew up in before the war, in the year 1937.
They did not quite show where she lived, but famous places near where she lived were included. So rarely that I find something she actually enjoys for real :D. And for me it was fascinating to watch, too.

P.S. I found that surfsticks (usb sticks with mobile phone chips inside), while bloody expensive to charge in data usage, can at least let me keep in touch with my reading and commenting, although online gaming is right out.

I do look forward to actual dls flatrate surfing next week, though, oh yes.

I did have a great holiday but a bit hectic one. I went on two short trips with friends a lot of fun however not as restful as my usual new years. I am very happy that you cound a great present for your mom!! it must've made her really happy!

I am about to watch SHannara series being made into a tv show hopefully it would be good and not something totally different like the "otherworld" series.....

Yes, I gather the New Year is one of the most important holidays in Japan - nice to have at least a fun time, even if the resting didn't get done (I hope you can catch up on that soon).

I read the Shannara books as a teenager but only vaguely remember them as being somewhat of a Tolkien rip-off. Still the more genre fiction is successful on the tv or movie screen the more choice we ought to get in that area. So yay :D
