And now we are referring to unmarried daughters of the aristocracy as Lady Last Name. It should be Lady First Name.
This author writes a lot of historical romance to be getting the basics so wrong.

Ok but a Duke might disown his son but he can’t disinherit him or take his titles away. Did this author research anything?

There are a lot of historical inaccuracies in this one.
She travels three days by carriage with him with no maid or chaperone yet they are trying to preserve her reputation?
His mother is referred to as Lady Barrow but she’s a duchess?
She lived for five years as a companion to a man who has only been ill for six months. So the first four and a half years he’s able bodied and yet this didn’t ruin her reputation?

She hates him because some other man kissed her against her will once. This is not enemies to lovers.
