Missed update #1

At first this book felt very much like an adult trying to think of how teens talk to each other which was entertaining to say the least. It was also a fantastically type of story that I wasn't used too. The sort of story set in the real world but one that would probably never happen, which did make it hard to read.

This chapter was unusual, for some reason Akito or whatever the bodyguard's name is, suddenly drops all his formalities and acts on love for Izzy? I could understand if they were gradually falling in love to which the book kind of eludes to at least on Izzy's side but it was very very random. Also, the way the author thinks teenagers talk is very weird...I would never say half of the dirty things izzy says out loud..

The book has gotten more interesting since the last update, but I still think all of the characters are rather stereotypical. There are two twin princesses trying to ruin her life, a hot stoic security guard, and a carefree cousin who guides her around the city. Which in itself is fine, but they follow the stereotypes so clearly that they don't have any depth in their characters, I'd love to see a plot twist soon.

Okay, the character got like a lot better so maybe I don't hate it as much as I did. She at least admits now that her flaws are bad, before she did not and that was what threw me off. It's also nice to see that Akio isn't as much of a stereotype as I thought he was. He's not just cold and mysterious, he actually has a personality, lovely.

Enjoying the story so far, but this flawed protagonist is so flawed that she has little manners and sticks out embarrassingly as a sore thumb. It's not even good flaws that could work towards character development, it's flaws like "i'll wear pajamas to my first meeting of the royal guards."

The book's fantastically sort of unlikely event chain continues where every single guard of the princess is handsome. I enjoy the story so far but it feels like the author has given this character so many flaws and traumas that she is beyond relatability despite the character seemingly aiming for that "just like the other girls" sort of vibe.
