The writing is really turning me off. This author needs to work on “showing not telling” among other things. It’s a bummer because I’m intrigued by the storyline and the characters but I’m not sure I can keep reading.

Its ok to abandon it or heavily skim. I used to always force myself to finish but, you know, SO many book and so little time!

Yeah, I've been heavily skimming but even then I may not finish it....
