Only some hint of supernatural horror as of now. However, the horror of misogyny and transphobia in a small religious town back in the day is in itself unnerving. I slowed down at one passage where the main character (a trans man nurse sent to a village to help with pregnancies, delivering babies, giving babies their shots, etc.) has to defend his presence in the village because they think he's a "bad influence"
