The protagonist in Hansel and Grtel is Hansel because he is the one who takes charge of himself and his sister when they are taken into the woods. He is rather short, and has brown hair. He is selfless and logical because he uses his resources to try and get home. He also stops the witch from eating him by fooling her with the chicken bone, when he pretended he was too skinny to be eaten.
