Book 5 is absolutely 4 stars; nearly 5! We finally find out about the numbers carved in book 1 and I just feel like a sucker because I'm clearly being emotionally manipulated and I don't care because I love it. Ok run-on sentence is run-on sentence but I cannot bring myself to care. Onward to book 6!!!

Book 3 done. Another one where it's hard to decide between 3 stars or 4. The romance feels more tacked on rather than interwoven through. So maybe nearer to 3 stars than to 4 if I were to review it as a romance novel as opposed to an action adventure with romance.

Finished book 2. OH MY GOD I HATE CLIFFHANGERS. I'm glad I have this completed series so I can jump straight to the 3rd book but my empathy for all the people who read this book prior to the publication of the 3rd book is painful. Book 2 is two stars because it was mostly hurt with very little comfort or even action adventure. Not cool. Do not read book 2 as a standalone. That should be written on its cover.

First book done. Can't decide if it's 3 or 4 stars for me. The torture was torturous. The kidnap and transport to auction was disorienting. The fight for freedom was suspenseful. I appreciate that there was no description of rape, just the impact afterward. I did not appreciate the death of a side character.
