…although if we take seriously the perspective of Thomsen as a protagonist, the whole thing should feel like mildly illuminating, titillating reportage from a morally compromised individual. This is the sought effect. The question seems to be how do we take the character’s perspective. Is it believable? Is the idea with this to present the ‘banality of evil’ in character and relational form?
