Reading this im genuinely astonished that Westover can even write it. the level of abuse that she was facing, and the amount of gaslighting and manipulation she endured is so intense to read about I cannot imagine living through this, and much less writing about it. As I'm reading this one thing is becoming more apparent, Tara Westover is a hero. I want to reach through the pages and sob and hug and thank her.

Never felt so sick to my stomach but also so much catharsis in this line. like yeah. Weve all heard something like that. Just... wow
