I love how tense I was getting during such a simple situation. The language Williams uses is so impactful. You emotionally feel every single action a character makes. The reasons for the action and the response to said reaction. For such a simple story, it's told so vividly and yet so concrete. Loving it!!

This is really heavy! I was enjoying following this character a lot until a certain point and now it feels like page after page is misery and hopelessness. I understand the underlying theme is purpose and passion, but man! William Stoner as a protagonist is flawed, he's surrounded by flawed people and his life is less than satisfactory. I know we're just following a man's mundane life, but f***! This is depressing!

I started this yesterday but I fell asleep while reading it. Not because it's bad. I'm only 6 pages in and I'm already enjoying it. But I was really tired. Womp womp.
