Can I just ask why Mahoney is not batting eyelids at the fact that Mrs C knows his superpower? They’re just keep talking about it like it’s an everyday occurrence. I’m still tryna figure out how she knew. Is it her superpower too?

Chapter 4 is giving me goosebumps and at the witching hour, no less! I love that for me. Thank God Ben’s awake. And regardless, I can’t seem to put this book down lol eff my 930 start 😂😭

I love that Jess incorporates magical and mythical elements into her story so seamlessly. Instead of you feeling like you’re blatantly reading a fantasy, witches and wizards themed book, you feel more like you’re reading a book about everyday people who may have a lil extra to their skill set, no biggie.

Oh that prologue was beautifully written. Jess is definitely the kind of writer I’ve been waiting for! I didn’t know that I needed this poetic style for dark matters.

One things I forgot to state in my TiJ review is Jess Kidd’s actually writing style. I’m barely 7 pages into Himself and the writing is just spectacular to read - the way things are written is so full, creative, satisfying to read. Usually, I get so bored with heavy descriptions and scene setting but with Jess’ writing, you don’t even notice that’s what’s happening!
