Fuck this, it's so good, but Murukami is too much. There's no way he wrote the rape dream and told himself "yeah, that's a great scene to have in my book". I lived so much about this book, but there are some things where I draw the limits.
You could excuse the sexism as the voice of the character, but this showed me it was just from the mind of the author.

I've never was more fascinated by an author than in this book. Like by taking out some scenes you'd improve the book so much, I'd gladly be considering it a masterpiece; but yet Murukami has can't stop himself from writing some of the worst scenes I've ever read, and for all it seems they are completely unnecessary.
This book is the prime example for the importance of an editor to tell you "remove this scene"

The writing of everything except women is incredible!
But like seriously, wtf?? He looks at a woman in suck a sexualized way, and then thinks she might be his sister?!!
