tension, drug dealers, an undercover agent with a soft spot for a single mum and her little girl- what strikes me as peculiar is the phonetic writing of the little girl´s speech- since she is being raised by ladies who all speak normal/Southern American English her "ghetto accent" (mistah Jake) seems a bit out of place- unless she copies the accent of her childminder? Never mind, a great book nevertheless!
