Finn (p. 235-257): 5 ⭐️ - When this one ended, I thought, really? Just like that? That’s it? Then, I sat with it for a good 15 more minutes, gave it a good thought, and read the ending again and said to myself, “yes! Just like that!!!” The ending required a bit more thoughtfulness on my side because it’s actually a really great ending to this short story. It was enjoyable the whole way through.

Danny Coughlins Bad Dream: 4.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this one. Even when slow every so often, I still wanted answers the whole time, so it kept me interested and compelled.

Willie the Weirdo (p. 71-82): 3⭐️ A quick 11 page short story reminiscent of many we’ve heard before from tropes in the 80s/90s/ and even early 2000s movies/book- but still fine as a palate cleanser!
Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream: (p. 83-234): Currently only on page 149 of this short story, but I’m already loving it. I imagine this will be a 4-5 star, Bad dreams, murder, detectives, suspect.

The Fifth Step (P.61-71): 2.5 ⭐️ The problem with me and SUPER short stories, is that I sometimes feel like I want to know more, or that some substance that would make it have heart is missing… This one was okay, but I’m in a moment in my life where this hit wrong. So take my rating of The Fifth Step with an extra grain of salt! 🧂 😅

Just finished the first short story in this one. As I log my updates, I will rate each short story out of 5 stars and add them to my review at the end. I do not have a ton of experience with short stories, however, I will attempt to rate them up against other short stories I’ve read and not against longer novellas or novels.
Two Talented Bastids (p. 1-61): 4.5 ⭐️ (immersive, insightful… kinda cute? 😅)
