I almost fell off the couch when Ayden said he was 22. I pegged him as a boy, someone in his teens. Definitely not a man. Someone left a rating on a story once complaining that they felt like the author was telling the readers how the characters felt instead writing in such a way that you FELT the emotion the characters were experiencing. I feel this way about the book. I'm not emotionally involved at all.

At this point I'm just going to skim pages until the end.

The author is telling me that Echo is mad & raging but it just doesn't feel honest. I'll continue reading. Maybe things will turn around.

"She was passionate about everything and always spoke her mind. " He knows this how? From a handful of interactions lasting no longer than roughly 15 minutes and one overnight excursion? I am not feeling the emotion in this book at all. There is absolutely no depth whatsoever and characterization is lacking. IMO.
