I'm reading this story right now before I have a chance to read, and be swayed by, the deluge of esteemed reviews and remarkable comments submitted by the more brilliant members of this extraordinary group!

Just finished THE WIZARD POSTPONED by Juan Manuel (1282-1348), translated from Spanish to English by Norman Thomas di Giovanni, 1970.
Simply narrated, wonderful anecdote of comeuppance. Thoroughly enjoyed this!

OOPS! I got ahead of myself, this is the story for next monday 6/3/24. I did read it and enjoyed it anyway. Especially the writing style, grammer, and vocabulary of the era.
Going back to THE WIZARD POSTPONED which is the Short Story Club's group read for this week, 5/27/24....

Starting The Monkey's Paw today by W.W. Jacobs (1863-1943).
Originally published in an anthology titled The Lady of Thr Barge in 1902.

The group read this week (Mon May 20) with the Short Story Club is OF A PROMISE KEPT by Lafcadio Hearn, a new-to-me author. This story is barely 4 pages long.
