Really trying not to start any new books while my paperback copy of King Kong doesn't arrive in the mail because I want to avoid becoming obsessed with something new and then not reading it at all, and since it will take 2 weeks, I probably need to go and watch Adrien Brody's filmography (preferably one where he's young and cute) or play a 2005 PlayStation 2 game to keep me invested until then.
Sad, sad situation.

I think Adrien's Jack would never think stupid shit like that after trying to express his feelings. He is a lot kinder and a lot less of a hot head than what the inner dialog of the book makes him to be. He has a quiet bravery you don't see often in romantic leads, it's very obvious this was written by a man who somehow thought he had to make him more "manly" when the og screenplay was all about the female gaze (2/2)

So Ann and Jack just kissed (on page 112 - send help), and I can't help but feel like the book didn't do the movie justice. Naomi and Adrien are so soft with each other, you can feel the tension in the quiet moments, the kindness in their eyes when they look at each other, but the book makes it seem like Jack is very frustrated with Ann - "What did she want from him? Couldn't she just accept it and be happy?" (1/2)

"Itching myself to read this novelization because I'm so dissatisfied with the director's commentary I just had to sit through for over 3 hours while Peter Jackson can't seem to shut up about cgi and practical effects - I just want to hear Philippa Boyens talk about the characters, the story, the script!! Every time a good scene was on and Peter Jackson was still going on and on on how this rock is fake and that rock is fake and everything is fake eheheh AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH KILL HIM
