I thought I would be reading some dark academia but so far I’m starting to feel like I’m back to school as a scholar. I have no doubt the author is an excellent academic. However, the characters are falling flat so far which makes for a bland storytelling for me. I keep hoping there would be more action. I’m still at Book II so I gotta give it more time I guess.
