if the revised edition is ever translated to english, i think 芳心 fangxin should be translated to "maidenheart" so that the joke in how hua cheng is gambling for the maidenheart sword that once belonged to xie lian is actually made clear lmfao 😂 别赌啦城主，他的芳心早就是你的了 (quit gambling, his maiden's heart has been yours for a long time)

the way mxtx had to change 我不举 / i can't get it up to 我不行 / i'm unfit [for this activity] bc of censorship 😭

finished the banyue arc! sort of. much to my disappointment, the racism is in fact just as bad in the novel as in the donghua 💀 also the way the chapters are split in the webnovel makes no sense? thank the gods i bought the paperback copy

look i love the audiodrama with all my heart and 太康老师 (<33) does an incredible job but truly you do not get the full effect of hua cheng's whole "oh i got caught in a tornado? just an average tuesday. but hey gege's here :D" vibe until you read the novel

the real reason mxtx made hua cheng's colour scheme red/black/silver is because green would've made the 🍵 jokes too obvious
