I'm assuming the weird video bit is to check for marks made by the villain but it's still ridiculous. Love the writing on this book, but the actions and plot is still feeling off to me. I'm finding the book more annoying the more I read, but it might save itself if the villain motives and reveals don't end up being silly. I'm invested at this point. And I do enjoy the pov chapters from the ghouls. We shall see.
