Ugh I forgot about the bastard brother being the torturer. The characters all feel too young to have kids, and their ages aren’t properly discussed. Kaan has been around an eon? But reads like a 25 year old? Raeve reads like she’s 21 but she’s supposed to have a kid? 20+ years ago? None of it makes sense

Why have we not had a single instance with the Other? A giant waste. I’m also not fucking on board with the whole kid thing

It’s tough because Kaan is the perfect thoughtful man and I love reading about what he builds for her with his own hands, the lengths he goes to hold onto her memory. However, he’s a bad character. Flat, no flaws, very little complexity.

It feels like we’re being set up to get the next book with Veya and Ghrim (however tf you spell that dumbass name) and I hate it. Idgaf about her and her POV is unnecessary.

I know this is a reread.. but so much of this is a stretch. They’re mad at her.. because she died? And he grieved? Wtf

Killing off a character that we met ONCE, that we have zero connection to is supposed to be the inciting event for the entire book? No. She didn’t go to a healer because she thought Raeve would think she left? BFFR.

Remembering why I couldn’t articulate a review. SO verbose. Renaming the simplest of concepts for no reason. Dae? Cycle? Slumber? It makes for a rambling and convoluted read.
