The main character is downtrodden, suicidal and suffers from a guilt complex, so putting even more emotion into the mix is dangerous.
The narrator's emotionally charged voice grated on my nerves. I haven't even gotten to the part where the horror starts, but am already at the point where I am considering to just dnf the audiobook.
