Kuang just said that slavery was a white european people concept and I don't know if I can read a book that sells opinions as facts. The footnotes are irritating anyway, not as much as the annoyingly long preface about the changes between real Oxford and fictional Oxford in this book.
Maybe this one just isn't for me. Will think on this before I dnf it. Shame. I love languages and academia and magic.
