This might be a DNF. My gods the treacle is thick in this one. The "will-they-won't-they" from the first book is replaced with "gawd-can-they-just-stop-please." These characters vacillate from bold and badass to insecure and fragile in the span of the same sentence. And the plot so far is a meandering mess.
