My dream of Bonifacio was not self indulgent; it was painful, and to resist it would have been greater pain.
If I did not go to him, I thought that my brain would burst from all the suppressed want that had dogged me so miserably in the dark of the tunnel, that my nose would bleed, that my very organs could rupture upon this fire.
I was no more capable of restraint than I was of winged flight.
