This is a very compelling historical fiction.
While I'm usually not so keen of battles descriptions, the author here describes military tactics and battle scene in the most engaging way. Also many interesting historical details ( and historical figures ) are mixed with the plot and finally , after 55% through the book, the romantica part is also started.
It's an amazing historical novel !

I love it, but I don't know why people tagged it as a romance.
It's an engaging historical fiction, yes, but so far there's no romance.

17th century Poland, winged polish hussars and their battles, conspiracies, love, ancient traditions that are completely outside of my historical knowledge.
I chose this fiction because the setting so different from the usual.
I never choose such long books but I have to admit that I was never bored and it's all really interesting and engaging.
I hate the sagas, but I really think I'll read the next 2 volumes too!

I'm only at the first chapter, but I like it. Though this is a challenge to me since I don't usually read and like too long books and I never pick up a book wich I already know will end with a cliffhanger forcing me to read the 2nd volume to know the whole story.
I'm hoping it will worth it...
