Female hysteria, women's complaints, pregnancy, inherent unfaithfulness and Eve's sin. Those objections and more were passed from man to man with a knowing nod, sealing of a gentleman's agreement to never allow such a fragile, moon-mad creature domination over the lives of others.

Wonderful storytelling...hitting all the right notes for me -historically, romantically, all-around. The one drawback - I stayed up way past my bedtime to read it.
