I really liked this first installment, but if you are already 15% in and not feeling it... I'm not sure it will get better for you? did you get to the church/school yet? I feel like things start picking up there.

I gave up on this one for all of these reasons lol. I've been thinking about going back, so I'm curious to see what you think if you keep going.

If you're wondering if you should go, you should probably go with that instinct.

I listened to this one to fall asleep in the evening.😄 It’s slow, lots of world building, and more of an info dump than character driven. I’m still confused as to what I listened to since there’s semblance of an explanation until you’re at least 70-80% through with the book. That last bit of action is what brought my rating up to 3⭐️ or else I’d give it 2⭐️. If you can slog through all of that, then keep listening. If not, just DNF this one read some spoilers and try book 2 instead.🤔

Yeah, I was at the school but it wasn't doing it for me.
I pushed through another 6 hours yesterday because I'm genuinely curious as to what this will end up being about. It's getting better but the slow pace and excessive descriptions are bogging me down.

I'm too far in now to stop. Plus, I spent 3 months on the library's waiting list and I don't want to send it back yet for that reason alone!

I have a feeling this will be a solid 3 star read when it's over? If I'm wrong, I'm going to wish I listened to you. lol

Thank you! That sounds like what is happening to me right now but I've invested too much time at this point, so I'm willing to ride it out.

It's definitely a brake problem. Have you checked its oil level ?

I could never pull off the makeupped look, sadly. Also, I hate anything getting near my eyes -- too many crazy exes chose to tech me that lesson.

Dear Anne, I feel you. I started this book some weeks ago and I am thinking if I should stay and continue or just GO... I suppose I need to read a little bit more and then decide, but until now I am not enjoying it.

Ok, I'm 94% done and I'm enjoying it now.
BUT! It took until I was about 60% of the way in for it to start kicking.
